Tesla began rolling out software 2025.38.3, with changes across a range of vehicles, including Cybertruck. The package combined visual updates, recording and security features, media refinements and a playful Tron Mode. Individual features depended on the vehicle’s hardware, equipment and market.
Here is an overview of the main changes.
Tron Mode

Found in Toybox > Tron, this Easter egg greets users with “Greetings Programs” and gives the car’s visualisation a Tron-inspired Light Cycle theme. It was listed for Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck, although the article noted that it was not yet clear whether every supported version required AMD Ryzen.
3D buildings

The update added 3D buildings and urban scenery for a more detailed map view. The feature was opened using the 3D map icon and required Premium Connectivity. The described support covered AMD Ryzen-equipped Model S and X from 2021 onwards, Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.
Dashcam Viewer changes

Recorded events gained street names, making clips easier to identify. The mobile viewer also added higher-resolution streaming and downloads, requiring Tesla app 4.49.5 or later. The article described support across recent vehicles, including Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.
B-pillar camera recordings

For Cybertruck, the update added B-pillar camera views to Dashcam recordings and Sentry Mode clips, expanding the angles available when reviewing an event.
More left scroll-wheel shortcuts

A long press on the left steering wheel scroll wheel opened a quick menu with more actions, including muting navigation and, on appropriately equipped vehicles, synchronising ambient lighting with music. The feature family was listed for Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck, subject to support for each action.
An onboarding guide

New Model 3 and Model Y owners gained an interactive introduction to key vehicle functions. Topics included seat adjustment, touchscreen controls, lights, wipers and Autopilot.
Other refinements

The release also included these changes:
- Street names in Dashcam events on supported models.
- An updated Apple Music interface, with reorganised playlists, new artist pages and more listening history.
- Easier media-service sign-in through a Tesla app notification.
- The option to require the relevant phone key before selecting a driver profile.
- Security fixes and performance improvements.
A visual representation of the charger

When connected, the car could show an on-screen representation of the charging equipment. The graphic differed for a Wall Connector, Mobile Connector or Supercharger, with a generic image for other charging equipment.
Service Mode refinements

Service Mode gained diagnostic panels for the bonnet and boot, including latch status and calibration information. It also added detection of mismatched firmware between HW4 cameras, alongside changes to routine brake-system tests. These were diagnostic tools rather than new everyday driving controls.
Looking ahead

Software 2025.38.3 combined entertainment and appearance changes with practical recording, interface and diagnostic improvements. It was another example of Tesla developing the ownership experience through software, with the precise feature set varying between cars.
