Tesla updated its app through versions 4.41.5, 4.42.0 and 4.42.5, improving several parts of the ownership experience, particularly after-sales support and vehicle management. This article rounds up the main changes reported in those releases, including for users in Italy.

Service improvements

Tesla refined the app’s Service section to make booking appointments more intuitive. Selecting a date and time became more flexible, and the app no longer automatically selected the first available slot. Users could also deselect a chosen date with a tap.

The screen refresh was improved too: swiping down refreshed service status or appointment details.

When a vehicle was being serviced, a new home-screen banner displayed a card with a blue progress bar showing the stage of the process, from waiting for parts to completion.

Other interface improvements included:

  • Clearer appointment details
  • The option to add an appointment to the phone’s calendar
  • A direct link opening the service centre address in maps
  • Details of the expected replacement transport, where available

New Supercharger icons

The Supercharger icons in the app’s Map and Charging sections were updated to reflect the oval design already introduced in the cars. Until a station was selected, the app displayed small circles. This reduced visual clutter, though the article noted that it made charger occupancy harder to assess at a glance.

Account management and security

Tesla introduced Sign-In Management under Menu > Your name > Security and Privacy, bringing together password, two-factor authentication and other sensitive account settings.

Users could also verify their phone number by SMS if they had not already done so during registration.

The app also listed third-party apps connected to a vehicle or Energy system in its privacy section, including what they could access and when access began. Revoking access still required the website at the time.

Referrals and the new Model Y

In Wallet, the app displayed detailed expiry dates for Tesla referral credits. Selecting View Expiration Details showed when individual credits would expire.

The update also brought full support for the new Model Y, including updated 3D vehicle models at the top of the app.

A growing role in ownership

These releases continued to improve the digital experience around Tesla ownership. Better service tools and clearer account security controls made the app increasingly central to managing the vehicle day to day.
