Tesla Model X brought together a distinctive SUV design, electric performance and a spacious cabin. This overview records the equipment, specifications and Italian prices described in February 2025. It is a historical model profile, rather than a current configurator or a claim that every feature is fitted to every version.

Distinctive design and features

Model X combines aerodynamic bodywork with an unmistakable exterior feature: its upward-opening Falcon Wing rear doors. They can make access to the rear seats easier and give the vehicle a dramatic appearance, but their operation still requires adequate clearance and attention to surrounding obstacles.

The panoramic windscreen extends above the front occupants, creating a strong sense of space. The original article described standard 20-inch Cyberstream wheels and optional 22-inch wheels, contributing to the SUV’s appearance while also affecting ride and efficiency.

Inside, the minimalist layout centres on a 17-inch landscape touchscreen for navigation, entertainment and vehicle settings. Services such as Netflix, Spotify and YouTube depend on supported software, connectivity and subscriptions, with video entertainment subject to the vehicle’s parked-use restrictions. The premium sound system adds to the cabin experience.

Performance

The profile compared the All-Wheel Drive and Plaid versions. Both used electric all-wheel-drive powertrains, with the following figures reported at publication:

All-Wheel Drive:

  • Range: 576 km WLTP, as cited in the original profile.
  • Top speed: 250 km/h, as cited for the configuration discussed.
  • 0–100 km/h: 3.9 seconds, under the relevant test conditions.

Plaid:

  • Range: 543 km WLTP, as cited in the original profile.
  • Top speed: 262 km/h, as cited for the configuration discussed.
  • 0–100 km/h: 2.6 seconds, under the relevant test conditions.

Those figures placed Model X among high-performance SUVs. The tri-motor Plaid was described as producing around 1,020 horsepower, combining very rapid acceleration with a family-sized cabin. Published acceleration and speed figures depend on the version, test method, battery state and other conditions; they are not a reason to exceed road limits.

The all-wheel-drive system manages power between the axles to support traction. It cannot guarantee maximum grip or safe handling in every condition, and appropriate tyres, speed and driver judgement remain essential, particularly on slippery roads.

Comfort and interior space

The article described five-, six- and seven-seat configurations, accommodating different family needs. Synthetic-leather upholstery and adjustable seating features contributed to the cabin’s comfort, although seat adjustment and lumbar-support availability depend on the seating position and version.

  • Second row: configurations included a conventional bench or individual powered seats. The individual-seat arrangement provided a different route to the third row and more separation between passengers.
  • Third row: additional seats increased passenger capacity, with the available space better assessed against the occupants’ needs rather than assuming equal comfort for everyone on long journeys.

There was also substantial luggage space:

  • Rear cargo area: the original article cited up to 2,180 litres with rear seats folded. Usable capacity depends on the seat arrangement and measurement method.
  • Front luggage compartment, or frunk: additional space for smaller items.

Climate control and HEPA filtration were other highlights. Features such as Dog Mode and Camp Mode served specific comfort and parking needs, subject to their operating conditions. Filtration does not guarantee that every contaminant is removed, and climate modes require owners to follow the vehicle’s warnings.

Technology and safety

Over-the-air software updates allowed Tesla to revise supported functions over time. The availability of a particular improvement depended on the car’s hardware, software and market, rather than every new feature automatically reaching every Model X.

The original profile highlighted several systems:

  • Autopilot and optional assistance features: lane keeping, supported lane changes and parking assistance depended on the installed package and local availability. They were driver-assistance functions, not permission to stop supervising the vehicle.
  • Sentry Mode: camera-based monitoring of the surroundings while parked, subject to the required settings, recording setup and battery conditions.
  • Acceleration settings: the original article grouped Ludicrous and Plaid together, but those names span different Model X generations. Owners should use the controls described in their own manual; a Plaid badge does not establish that a separate Ludicrous mode is fitted.

The profile also cited ten airbags, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking and strong crash-test results. The exact restraint equipment and relevant test assessment need to be checked for the vehicle’s model year and market. Driver-assistance and passive-safety systems reduce particular risks but cannot prevent every collision or injury.

Range and charging

The article’s range comparison reached 576 km WLTP, making longer journeys possible with charging stops. It also suggested reaching 80% charge in around 30 minutes at a Supercharger. That is not a universal charging time: the starting charge level, battery temperature, charger power and other conditions matter. CCS charging support expands options for compatible European vehicles, but the connector and equipment of an individual car should be checked.

Italian prices reported in February 2025

  • All-Wheel Drive: from €100,990 in the original profile.
  • Plaid: from €115,990 in the original profile.

The options discussed included premium paint, larger wheels and the yoke as an alternative to a conventional steering wheel. These prices and configurations belong to the period covered, and do not establish current order availability or today’s specification.

Overall impressions

Model X’s appeal lay in its combination of performance, unusual doors, a spacious cabin and electric power. For buyers seeking a large premium SUV, it offered a distinctive alternative with a particularly strong emphasis on acceleration and software.

The high purchase price was an obvious limitation. Competitors such as the BMW iX and Mercedes EQS SUV also offered buyers reasons to compare comfort, equipment and practicality carefully. Model X’s distinctive design did not remove the need to assess how well it fitted an individual household.
