Tesla raised Cybertruck prices again in the United States. From 25 August, the Dual Motor and Premium All-Wheel Drive versions described in this report cost $5,000 more, while Cyberbeast’s list price remained unchanged.
The Dual Motor rose from $69,990 to $74,990, and Premium AWD from $79,990 to $84,990. Cyberbeast remained at $99,990. Tesla did not announce accompanying specification changes. These were US list prices at publication, rather than current offers or European prices.
From the $59,990 offer to a $74,990 starting price

The recent pricing history was notable. In February 2026, Tesla had introduced a US Dual Motor offer at $59,990. It lasted approximately ten days, with the announced offer ending on 28 February before the price rose to $69,990. The article interpreted the short-lived price as a test of market demand.
With the latest increase, the starting price was $15,000 above that February offer: approximately 25% higher. The gap between Premium AWD and Cyberbeast also narrowed, from $20,000 to $15,000.
Higher prices while volumes remained below earlier ambitions
Price was only part of the story. Tesla did not report Cybertruck deliveries separately. The article cited Q2 2026 figures of 467,762 Model 3 and Model Y deliveries and 12,364 vehicles in the Other Models category. The first total was approximately 37.8 times the second. The category figures cannot be used to calculate Cybertruck sales alone.
Those aggregate figures nevertheless illustrated the scale difference between Tesla’s high-volume cars and the rest of its range. The author saw a tension between rising Cybertruck prices and the much larger production ambitions discussed around its original launch.
Does a price increase mean cancellation?

A higher price does not establish that Tesla intends to stop building Cybertruck. It did, however, prompt questions about the model’s future positioning. When the truck was unveiled in 2019, Musk discussed ambitions for annual production in the hundreds of thousands.
Tesla subsequently changed the available configurations and prices several times. The latest increase put the least expensive listed version just below $75,000 before additional costs, moving it further towards the premium market. Improving margins on lower volumes was one possible interpretation, rather than a confirmed explanation from Tesla.
What about Europe?
At publication, Tesla did not offer Cybertruck through a regular EU sales programme. The article discussed potential challenges involving European vehicle requirements, particularly protection of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. Exact approval requirements and outcomes depend on the relevant vehicle and jurisdiction.
The truck’s distinctive stainless-steel body, angular surfaces and overall design were described as possible challenges for a European version. That analysis should not be mistaken for a formal regulatory decision on every individual vehicle.
Examples could still appear in Europe through private imports or exhibitions. Physical presence, individual registration and approval for a normal manufacturer sales programme are separate matters; an exhibition vehicle does not establish general road legality.

A European version remained uncertain
Tesla had not announced a specifically adapted EU version in the report. Meeting a different market’s requirements could involve more than cosmetic changes, since the vehicle’s appearance is closely linked to its underlying design.
The author therefore considered a regular European introduction unlikely in the existing configuration. In the US, the pricing changes suggested a more expensive, potentially lower-volume position than the original mass-market ambitions. That was an assessment of the strategy, not confirmation of Tesla’s future plans.
The additional $5,000 strengthened that interpretation, while leaving the model’s longer-term direction open.
