Tesla has updated its mobile app to version 4.30.0, adding a few small visual changes. The update was released on 15 February, but its changes have only begun to emerge in the past few hours.
A redesigned drop-down menu
The cube-shaped referral button at the top right has been removed, along with the user profile icon. A drop-down menu now brings those functions together with other settings. The icon for messages and communications from Tesla remains unchanged.

More intuitive settings
Opening the drop-down settings menu reveals several redesigned sections. Referrals, no longer on the main page, appear here alongside personal information. The menu also includes charging, Tesla products, referrals, the online shop and charging for non-Tesla vehicles.

Our thoughts
Everything feels clearer and more intuitive, with better-organised sections and a clearer separation of Tesla products, making it easier to view our vehicles and home equipment.
Alongside the refreshed look, the update brings stability and security improvements and adds energy charts for Wall Connector.

Updated the app but still cannot see the changes?
This strategy helps avoid overloading servers during update downloads and also acts as a test, allowing Tesla to check that the software is stable on each device before releasing it to everyone. Gradual distribution gives the company an early opportunity to identify issues and fix them before the update is installed and activated for all users.
In the app’s case, an update may therefore be available to download and install immediately, while its changes and new features become visible a little later. The same principle applies to updates for Tesla vehicles themselves.
