The April 2026 report discussed software 2026.2.9.6 and FSD v14.3 alongside the Dutch approval announced on 10 April. These were related developments, but should not be treated as one identical worldwide software release. FSD Supervised remained driver assistance, and Dutch permission did not establish that the US v14.3 configuration was approved across Europe.
The RDW’s decision allowed use in the Netherlands under the approved conditions; wider EU admission still required further steps. The article expected an initial customer rollout over the following days. That expectation was separate from confirming that every eligible car had already received the software.
The FSD v14.3 changes reported

The article described further development of the North American system using fleet experience and training. Its reported improvements included:
- Changes to reinforcement-learning training, intended to improve behaviour in different driving situations.
- A revised vision encoder, intended to interpret more complex scenes and difficult visibility.
- Better interpretation of 3D geometry and road signs.
- Reductions in unwanted behaviour, including overly assertive lane changes and following too closely.
The report also described an AI compiler rewrite using MLIR and a roughly 20% reaction-speed improvement. That was a reported software-performance figure, not a verified reduction in crashes or a promise of a fixed response time in every situation.
Driving behaviour and safety-related changes
The intended result was smoother, more natural behaviour, while continuing to require driver supervision.
Scenarios discussed included:
- Emergency vehicles.
- School buses.
- Complex right-of-way situations.
- Unusual objects in the road.
The report also listed development work on:
- Detecting and responding to smaller animals.
- Handling complex traffic-light arrangements.
- Recovering from some temporary system problems. This should not be taken as a guarantee that the vehicle can safely resolve every failure without intervention.
Parking changes were also discussed:
- More decisive selection of a parking space.
- Smoother manoeuvres.
- A parking destination pin marked “P” on the map, where supported.
The position in Italy at publication
The article stated that the newly approved Dutch system was not yet available in Italy on 11 April 2026. Existing functions depended on the purchased package, hardware and approved market configuration, including:
- Basic Autopilot where equipped.
- Traffic-Aware Cruise Control.
- Autosteer within its operating limits.
The suggestion that Italy might receive a rollout that summer was a forecast, not an announced Italian availability date. A Dutch decision could not be used to promise when another country would permit the system.
Other reported software features
The report also covered functions outside FSD. They should not be described as available globally on every car merely because they appeared in a release family.
Blind-spot warning while parked

The scenario discussed was opening a door while a vehicle or bicycle approached from behind.
- A supported car could provide a visual or audible warning.
- The article also claimed temporary prevention of door opening. That behaviour requires confirmation in the relevant manual and hardware configuration; a warning must not be assumed to guarantee that a door will remain locked or that it is safe to open.
Changes to feature names
The report described interface terminology changes. Labels could vary by language and market and did not themselves change approved capability:
- Full Self-Driving was labelled with the important “Supervised” qualification.
- Navigate on Autopilot was described as Navigate on Autosteer.
- FSD Computer was described as AI Computer.
Supercharger site maps in Europe

The article reported expansion of detailed Supercharger maps beyond the US. Depending on the supported site and vehicle software, these could show:
- The layout of charging stalls.
- Accessibility and stalls suited to particular needs, such as trailers.
- The charging area’s position within a car park.
- Available or occupied stalls.
- Information about charging vehicles where supported; not every site necessarily offered all these details.
Service Mode changes

The final reported changes concerned the diagnostic Service Mode interface:
- A more complete ECU update panel.
- Inclusion of some non-CAN components, such as the Autopilot computer and telematics unit. Diagnostic availability was not an instruction for owners to alter service settings.
