What do the Tlyard lights offer?
🌟 Brighter lighting and a clean appearance
The kits are intended to provide brighter illumination throughout the frunk or boot than the factory light alone. Both warm and white-light versions were available, letting owners choose the appearance they preferred.
🔧 Straightforward, reversible fitting
The plug-and-play connections use the car’s existing lighting supply, without drilling or cutting into the original wiring. The fitting steps below describe access to those connections and positioning the light strip.
🧠 Automatic switching
The lights switch on automatically when the frunk or boot opens and turn off when it closes. The boot version also has a light-sensitive sensor intended to avoid unnecessary operation.
🌧️ Water and dust resistance
Tlyard lists bright LEDs and an IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating for the lighting, designed to withstand the conditions around the luggage compartments.

Fitting the lights
The original guide described installation in around 15 minutes. The steps below outline the process; use the instructions for the exact kit and vehicle, particularly before trimming a light strip.
🔹 Fitting the frunk light
- Open the frunk and locate the front access cover. Carefully lift it using a small plastic trim tool.
- Disconnect the existing light’s power cable and attach the supplied splitter. Connect both the original cable and the new light’s cable to the adapter.
- Tuck the connections back into the access area and refit the cover.
- Fit the light strip into the designated gap beneath the seal around the frunk. Secure it evenly; trim excess length only as permitted by the kit instructions.
- Close the frunk, then reopen it to check that the light switches on automatically.

🔹 Fitting the boot light
- Open the boot and gently pull back the upper carpet trim to expose the cables.
- Disconnect the existing light’s power cable and attach the supplied splitter. Connect both the original cable and the new light’s cable to the adapter.
- Put the carpet trim back in place.
- Gently press the light strip into the seal around the boot opening until it is seated evenly all the way around.
- Close the boot, then reopen it to check automatic operation.
