Ahead of Tesla’s official announcement, sightings offered an early look at possible updates for Model S and Model X. The changes appeared evolutionary rather than radical, aimed at keeping the flagship designs up to date after their previous major refresh in 2021.
A front bumper camera
A camouflaged Model S spotted at the Nürburgring showed changes around the front and rear bumpers. One particularly interesting addition was a camera integrated into the front bumper. It raised questions about potential improvements in close-range visibility and driver assistance, but the sighting did not confirm a new 360-degree camera feature.

Carbon-fibre detailing at the front
Images shared by The Kilowatts showed a grille-like opening with carbon-fibre trim, at least on the Plaid version photographed. Rather than a more dramatic front-end redesign or a Model Y-style light bar, the changes appeared restrained. The article suggested that limiting production-line changes might be one reason, although Tesla had not confirmed that explanation.

Changes to the rear bumper
The rear bumper also appeared revised, though it was not yet clear whether the change would be limited to Plaid. The rear camera remained in its existing position, unlike the different arrangement introduced on the refreshed Model Y.

Ambient lighting in the cabin
Inside, the images pointed to ambient lighting for Model S and Model X, following its introduction on other Tesla vehicles. The apparent layout resembled Model Y’s, with lighting continuing along the front and rear door panels.
A new colour and revised wheels
The sighted cars also suggested a new blue paint colour, similar to the refreshed Model Y’s Glacier Blue but with a different tone in the available images. The wheel designs appeared revised too, although details were not yet official.

When might they arrive?
Tesla had not formally announced the refresh when this article was published. The Kilowatts noted an apparent absence of Model S and Model X cars from Fremont’s shipping area, which was interpreted as a possible sign of a coming launch. Musk had previously said the models would receive “some love” before the end of the year.
Even a modest update could make the flagship cabins and everyday experience feel more current. A front camera, ambient lighting and revised styling were welcome possibilities, but the official announcement was still needed to establish the final specifications and availability.
