Tesla is bringing referrals to Full Self-Driving Supervised. The new US programme lets existing users invite another owner to try the system and receive a benefit if that invitation leads to a subscription.

The mechanism brings referrals closer to the experience of using the car: it does not necessarily require introducing a new vehicle buyer. Instead, the recipient needs to own an eligible Tesla and meet the conditions for an FSD trial.

When the reward is earned

A recipient with a valid invitation can receive a one-month trial. The referrer earns the benefit when the recipient subscribes to FSD during that period: one free month for subscribers, or $99 in Tesla Credits for owners who bought the package outright.

Generating a referral link requires an active FSD subscription or an outright purchase of FSD. Free annual grants do not qualify the owner to act as a referrer. Tesla app version 4.62.0 or later is also required, using the dedicated option in Refer and Earn.

Conditions to check before sharing a link

The recipient must not have paid for an FSD subscription in the previous twelve months or already purchased the system. Hardware compatibility also matters, along with the other exclusions for owners who received a trial after taking delivery.

Rewards are limited to twelve per calendar year and expire twelve months after being awarded. This is therefore neither unlimited credit nor a reward earned simply by sending an invitation.

These conditions concern the US programme and do not announce an Italian offer. FSD Supervised remains a driver-assistance system requiring the driver’s attention and active supervision; a one-month trial does not change that responsibility.
