Tesla began enabling Grok in more Middle Eastern countries with software version 2026.32.7, expanding access to its in-car AI assistant. The rollout arrived without a major announcement. Early owner reports indicated availability in Israel and the United Arab Emirates, while the expansion was also expected to include Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan.
The reports followed changes to Tesla’s regional support pages, which added localised Grok documentation and listed the countries concerned. The expansion reflected Tesla’s efforts to bring more of its software experience to additional markets, subject to local requirements.
How Grok works in a Tesla

The requirements described in the report were a Tesla with an AMD Ryzen infotainment processor and an internet connection through paid Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi. A separate Grok account or subscription was not required for the basic in-car experience. The article also described account-based access through the Grok smartphone or computer app, with the possibility of viewing conversations started in the car.
After installing version 2026.32.7 on an eligible vehicle in a supported market, the Grok icon was expected to appear in the car’s App Launcher. The activation methods described were the touchscreen, the steering wheel microphone button and the “Hey Grok” wake phrase, subject to the version and settings available.
The report described progressively deeper integration. In Assistant mode, the stated voice-controlled capabilities included:
- setting navigation destinations and changing a route;
- making calls and finding contacts;
- adjusting climate control, fan speed and heated seats;
- controlling media playback;
- answering technical questions using the car’s digital owner’s manual;
- creating location-based reminders.
The article also discussed Grok Bot, describing broader AI tasks such as checking email, managing a calendar and shopping online. Those are separate from the basic anonymous chat experience. Tesla lists software 2026.26 or later and a signed-in Grok account for Connectors and Grok Bot, with a SuperGrok subscription also required for Grok Bot. Availability still depends on the vehicle, software and market; access to the basic assistant does not automatically include every advanced task.
Deeper integration with Tesla

Further voice features were also in development. The report said Tesla was working on voice messaging, allowing users to dictate, check and reply to SMS messages through a conversation with Grok.
Another longer-term ambition was connecting natural-language requests with Full Self-Driving. Possible commands discussed included pulling over, changing lanes or choosing a parking space. These were future possibilities, not a change to the supervision required when using driver-assistance features.
The Middle Eastern rollout marked another step in Grok’s expansion within the Tesla ecosystem, as the assistant developed from a chatbot towards a voice interface for more vehicle functions. Availability still depended on the car, software version and market.
