Cybercab will also come in Liquid Silver. Elon Musk has said that further efficiency improvements will enable a 40 kWh battery pack. Both statements describe the vehicle\u2019s development; his message does not give a launch date for the new configuration.<\/p>\n

A smaller battery depends on greater efficiency<\/h2>\n

The key connection is between energy use and battery capacity. An electric vehicle that needs less energy to travel a given distance may be able to meet the same objective with less energy on board. Musk describes the forthcoming efficiency improvements as the step that will make the 40 kWh pack possible.<\/p>\n

That does not establish the future version\u2019s range. His message gives no energy consumption or range figures for that particular configuration. Battery capacity alone is not enough to calculate them, and it is not a homologation result.<\/p>\n

Liquid Silver adds another look for Cybercab<\/h2>\n

The second change concerns colour. Musk announced Liquid Silver as a way to make the vehicles\u2019 appearance less monotonous. The opening photograph shows a Cybercab on display in September 2026. It is an archive image, rather than a photograph of the new silver version.<\/p>\n

In the wider manufacturing picture, Tesla is focusing on expanding Cybercab production, as discussed in our report on the reallocation of production at Giga Texas<\/a>. The 40 kWh statement adds a technical objective to that programme, while the new colour broadens its visual identity.<\/p>\n
