On 3 April 2026, Tesla Charging announced that the French site hosted the 80,000th stall in its worldwide network.

Archive coverage of the announcement from 3 April 2026, prepared in October 2026.

Supercharger: another European milestone

Stalls and stations are different numbers

What the milestone means

Supercharger: another European milestone

The Saint-Saturnin expansion added 28 charging stalls, taking the station’s total to 48. Tesla’s original message also mentioned solar canopies and toilets: amenities that make a stop more convenient, alongside the number of available connectors.

The location chosen to celebrate the result gives the milestone a tangible European dimension. For travellers, expanding an existing station can matter as much as opening a new one: it creates more opportunities to find a stall where they are already used to stopping.

Stalls and stations are different numbers

The 80,000 announced by Tesla referred to individual charging stalls, rather than 80,000 locations. Saint-Saturnin, for example, was one site with 48 stalls. Keeping the two measures separate makes the network’s growth easier to interpret correctly.

The figure also captures a specific stage in April 2026. It does not describe the number of Superchargers available today and should not be used to estimate how busy a station will be during a trip. That depends on the time of the stop and the current information shown by the car.

What the milestone means

The news documents infrastructure expansion without turning global growth into a promise of always finding an available charger. Stall numbers, station locations and on-site amenities remain complementary parts of the travel experience.

More coverage is available in our Batteries and charging section.

Sources

Tesla Charging, original announcement on 3 April 2026; Not a Tesla App, coverage of the French site.

Supercharger stalls: official Tesla archive photograph, rather than a photograph specifically of Saint-Saturnin.
