The reported software is FSD (Supervised) v14.3 Lite, delivered with update 2026.38.5.1.

In this article

FSD v14 Lite: confirmation of the Intel rollout

What FSD v14 Lite includes on Model S and Model X

How it differs from other HW3 Teslas

Is FSD v14 Lite coming to Italy too?

What about Halloween Mode?

FSD v14 Lite: confirmation of the Intel rollout

The announcement comes from the official Tesla Super Intelligence account. An owner of a 2017 Model X has also documented installation, sharing an app screenshot showing the new version. This is therefore a rollout that has begun, rather than just a feature promised for the future.

Original screenshot shared by Leonard Campagna: a 2017 Model X with FSD v14.3 Lite.

This does not mean every Model S and Model X will receive the same update at the same time. Distribution depends on the configuration and software branch assigned to the vehicle. A general announcement that rollout has begun does not confirm eligibility for every individual VIN.

What FSD v14 Lite includes on Model S and Model X

The Lite version brings some capabilities developed for the newer system to HW3 hardware. Its name should not be interpreted as converting the car to the HW4 platform: the physical hardware remains what is already installed.

Reported features on Intel-based Model S and Model X include speed profiles and a counter tracking distance driven without interventions, often referred to as an FSD streak. These are tools for configuring and reviewing the driving experience: the counter does not certify that the car can be driven without supervision.

How it differs from other HW3 Teslas

The package is not identical to the one for Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y. Early reports for these Model S and Model X vehicles do not include arrival options, starting FSD from Park, FSD-managed reversing or Actually Smart Summon.

This is a good example of why two cars with the same driving-computer designation can have different menus and capabilities. HW3 and Intel describe different components: the former concerns driving computation, while the latter refers to infotainment. Knowing only one of the two is not enough to establish overall software compatibility.

Is FSD v14 Lite coming to Italy too?

The announcement concerns rollout of the FSD Supervised branch to compatible vehicles. It is not an announcement activating these features on Italian Model S and Model X vehicles. It should therefore not be used to promise owners in Italy the same package seen in screenshots from cars receiving it.

To check the situation for your car, refer to the equipment purchased, the release notes shown on the vehicle’s screen and the features Tesla actually offers in the local market. Our coverage follows the product’s development without turning international news into unannounced availability in Italy.

What about Halloween Mode?

Receiving a recent update does not remove infotainment limitations. Halloween Mode requires a supported configuration and does not become Intel-compatible simply because the software number is 2026.38.

For owners of older vehicles, the news remains positive: development of the Lite branch is reaching these cars too. Missing features, however, should be regarded as missing today; any future addition will need confirmation in a new release.
