Tesla software update 2026.38.3<\/strong> puts Halloween mode<\/strong> in the spotlight: the car becomes a ghost on the display, with effects for the spookiest night of the year. There is more to the package than pumpkins, though, with changes to navigation, visualisations and charging too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distribution also continues through 2026.38.3.1<\/strong>. The distinction matters: Halloween mode debuts with 2026.38.3, while the following version continues its rollout alongside other changes in that software branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tesla Halloween mode: from ghost to Photobooth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is activated in Toybox<\/strong>. A ghost costume covers the car on the display, while the parked scene adds a full moon, pumpkins and a rather unwelcoming house. It is the kind of detail that makes you smile as soon as you get in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visualisations change while driving too<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The theme continues while driving: other vehicles turn green, pedestrians look like skeletons and route markers become purple. These are visual effects, not additional driver-assistance capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

Wraps, sounds and light shows<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Virtual wraps include pumpkins, ghosts and bats. The customisation changes the display, not the bodywork.<\/strong> Sound effects and a dedicated light show add to the Halloween atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n

Trick or Treat, Photobooth and a spooky voice<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With Trick or Treat<\/strong>, the car responds to people approaching with sounds and flashing lights. Photobooth adds frames and stickers to photos, while the app lets users speak through the external speaker with a themed voice on compatible vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pay attention to the vehicle\u2019s warning: Trick or Treat disables Sentry Mode, the security alarm and Walk-Away Door Lock<\/strong>. It should not be mistaken for a surveillance feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other changes in update 2026.38.3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The desired arrival energy<\/strong> for a trip can be set from a phone with Tesla app version 4.58.0 or later. Compatible Model 3 and Model Y cars with AMD Ryzen infotainment and HW3 also gain improved vehicle rendering and parking visualisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel-powered cars receive detailed maps of selected Supercharger locations, including stall layout and occupancy at supported sites. The package also includes security fixes and, on specific vehicles, automatic dipped-beam alignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another reported feature is Emergency Drive Away<\/strong>, intended for emergencies while charging. We do not treat it as confirmed for Italy: the initial release concerns US Superchargers. Driving away with the cable connected damages the vehicle and charger, so this is not a routine way to stop charging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it coming to Italy? Compatibility and limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vehicles in Italy have installed the 2026.38.3.1 branch<\/strong>, according to Teslascope\u2019s public history<\/a>. That does not mean every Italian Tesla receives every feature: model, processor, equipment and market all matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full Halloween mode is listed for AMD Ryzen infotainment<\/strong>; it should not be promised for Intel-equipped cars. To see what is actually available on an individual Tesla, check Software \u2192 Release Notes<\/strong> on the vehicle\u2019s display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
