These were reports about future plans, not a confirmed launch announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reported preparations in Texas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article said <strong>Gigafactory Texas was being prepared to build Model Y L<\/strong>, with changes to the assembly lines reportedly under way. A vehicle body seen at the factory during spring and prototypes spotted on US roads and at Fremont\u2019s test facilities were cited as signs of development. Such sightings did not establish a production or delivery start date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/teslhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Model-YL-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Model Y L Interni\" class=\"wp-image-4726\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Model Y L interior<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More space for families<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Model Y L was first introduced in China, with the report also describing its arrival in Australia, New Zealand and other Asian markets. The six-seat layout aimed to provide <strong>more room for larger families<\/strong> within the Model Y range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compared with the regular Model Y, the version described offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A wheelbase extended by 150 mm<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overall length increased by 179 mm<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Six seats in a 2+2+2 layout<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>separate second-row seats;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>heated and ventilated seating, depending on position and specification;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>more space for third-row passengers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a 16-inch centre touchscreen;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>suspension tuned for comfort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Performance close to the Model Y Premium AWD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the larger dimensions, the Chinese version\u2019s quoted performance remained close to Model Y Premium AWD, with <strong>0\u2013100 km\/h in approximately 4.5 seconds<\/strong>. Specifications for a future US or European version were not confirmed by that comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article expected a relatively small range penalty. Chinese figures used the CLTC cycle, however, which cannot be directly compared with European WLTP or US EPA ratings. Applying a similar percentage to the US range suggested <strong>roughly $4,000 more than Model Y Premium AWD<\/strong>. A European premium of a few thousand euros was also considered. Neither estimate was an announced local price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What about Europe?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not a Tesla App also reported that <strong>Model Y L had obtained European type approval the previous year<\/strong>. That report requires confirmation against the applicable approval documents. Even a valid approval would not itself establish a European sales launch or delivery timetable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A larger Model Y could fill a useful place in Tesla\u2019s range as availability of Model X changed. At publication, however, <strong>Tesla had not announced an official European launch date<\/strong>.
