It was an important milestone in the company\u2019s development of high-power charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time, the <strong>Cybertruck<\/strong> was the only vehicle described as able to make full use of that power, thanks to its <strong>800-volt<\/strong> electrical architecture. However, <strong>Tesla\u2019s pickup was not approved for sale in Europe<\/strong>, so the development mainly concerned the network\u2019s technology rather than a direct benefit for European drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What really changes for users?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On paper, charging at up to 500 kW suggests much shorter stops, particularly for an energy-intensive vehicle such as Cybertruck. According to chief engineer Wes Morrill, <strong>the new charger allowed Cybertruck to recover up to 44% of battery charge in 15 minutes<\/strong>, a <strong>13% improvement over 250 kW V3 Superchargers<\/strong> as described in the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, these power peaks occur only when the battery is nearly empty, below 10%. In most cases, the charging curve quickly levels off and the practical advantage over existing Superchargers is more limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The bigger change: the new V4 Cabinet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most significant development was less the maximum power than <strong>the new architecture of the V4 Cabinets<\/strong> feeding these Superchargers. As Tesla Director of Charging Max de Zegher explained, the cabinet focused on efficiency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>three times the power density<\/strong> of the previous generation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>support for up to eight stalls<\/strong> per cabinet, compared with four for V3,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the ability to deliver <strong>1.2 MW<\/strong> for Tesla Semi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/teslhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tesla-cabinet-V4-1024x576.png\" alt=\"tesla cabinet V4\" class=\"wp-image-4558\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, the technology was intended not only to charge faster but also to <strong>expand the network more quickly<\/strong>, affecting costs, installation time and use of space in urban centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An investment in the future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The V4 Cabinet provides <strong>a foundation for a denser, more efficient and scalable charging network<\/strong> able to support the next generation of Tesla vehicles.<br>At the time, the charging-power benefit concerned Cybertruck, while the longer-term prospect was <strong>a more powerful and extensive network<\/strong> for users elsewhere, including Europe, as other vehicles became capable of accepting higher charging power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was therefore reasonable to expect future Teslas, including European-market cars, to benefit from faster charging <strong>as V4 technology was deployed more widely<\/strong>.
