It addresses the much-discussed issue of \u201cphantom drain\u201d: losing range even when the car is stationary. A vehicle that appears switched off can still have several features running and drawing power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to activate Low Power Mode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tesla provided two ways to use the feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Manual activation:<\/strong> from the car\u2019s menu (<em>Controls &gt; Charging &gt; Low Power Mode<\/em>) or the Tesla app (<em>Controls &gt; Low Power Mode<\/em>, or by adding a shortcut).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Automatic activation:<\/strong> set a battery threshold, with 20% as the default described in the release, below which the mode turns on automatically to preserve energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"992\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/teslhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/cvghjui-992x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Tesla introduce la Low Power Mode \" class=\"wp-image-4307\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That flexibility makes it useful for <strong>both ordinary parking and longer periods away<\/strong>, such as an airport stay or a holiday, when features might otherwise remain active unnoticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does Low Power Mode switch off?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To save energy, Low Power Mode disables several features that can use power while the car is parked, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sentry Mode<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Summon Standby<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cabin Overheat Protection<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scheduled preconditioning<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Climate control<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Camp Mode<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Power outlets<\/strong>, where fitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep Accessory Power On<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remote seat and steering wheel heating<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Defrosting and de-icing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"923\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/teslhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/vghjkiop-923x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Tesla introduce la Low Power Mode \" class=\"wp-image-4308\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article estimated that these features could together account for <strong>up to 40 km of range a day<\/strong>, depending on conditions and use. Switching them off together makes parked-energy management simpler; actual savings vary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Low Power Mode <strong>does not turn the car off completely<\/strong>. It remains connected and accessible through the app, using a small amount of energy for basic functions and battery temperature management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exceptions and overrides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The archived report also described the following exceptions. They should not be assumed to apply to every model or current software version:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sentry Mode and accessory power remain available while charging, according to the release description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climate control and Camp Mode remain active while Supercharging.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The original report treated Dog Mode as an exception, but this must not be read as a guarantee at low charge. Tesla\u2019s owner\u2019s manual warns that Dog Mode climate control can stop below 20% battery charge or if the climate system detects a problem. Follow the vehicle\u2019s actual alerts and actively monitor your pet and the cabin temperature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tesla also included <strong>confirmation prompts<\/strong>: manually turning a restricted feature back on brings up a warning about additional energy use, while leaving the decision to the owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A welcome energy-management tool<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Low Power Mode gives owners a practical way to limit parked consumption and <strong>more control over energy use<\/strong>.
