The code findings were an indication of work in progress, rather than confirmation that every role was already available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Grok?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developed by xAI, Grok was expected to become a significant addition to Tesla\u2019s software experience. The findings suggested it could offer <strong>around a dozen conversational personalities<\/strong>, with different tones and themes rather than a single standard assistant voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>personality labels found in the firmware<\/strong> included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Argumentative<\/strong> \u2013 a debate-oriented style.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assistant<\/strong> \u2013 a conventional helper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Conspiracy<\/strong> \u2013 a role the article interpreted as potentially tongue-in-cheek.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Doctor<\/strong> \u2013 a health-themed role label.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kids\u2019 Stories &amp; Trivia Games<\/strong> \u2013 children\u2019s stories and quiz-style entertainment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Meditation<\/strong> \u2013 a calmer conversational theme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Motivation<\/strong> \u2013 encouragement and motivational conversation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Romantic \/ Sexy<\/strong> \u2013 a more intimate conversational style.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Storyteller<\/strong> \u2013 personalised stories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Therapist<\/strong> \u2013 a counselling-themed conversational role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language Tutor<\/strong> \u2013 language practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grok Classic \u2013 Unhinged Mode<\/strong> \u2013 Grok\u2019s less conventional conversational style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025.20 firmware also contained <strong>icons associated with the roles<\/strong>, which suggested a release could be approaching. Older Intel-based Teslas could therefore be left out initially. The article noted that an earlier Chinese voice assistant had later expanded to Intel cars and wondered whether Grok might follow a similar path, but no such extension was confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was also unclear whether Grok would be included with <strong>Premium Connectivity<\/strong> or require a separate plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Energy-saving guidance in the same software branch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, software <strong>2025.20.3<\/strong> added an <strong>Energy app feature<\/strong> intended to help drivers reduce consumption on familiar journeys. Using fleet data, it could show the estimated percentage of energy saved by driving a little more slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article gave this example: a route usually driven at 106 km\/h could suggest reducing speed to 98 km\/h to save 1% of battery energy. The benefit would depend on the journey and conditions, but could be useful when remaining charge was limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The article also considered how similar fleet-based information might help future <strong>Robotaxi route planning<\/strong> or unsupervised-driving development, potentially alongside road-condition data.
