The original article linked that regulatory process to the potential introduction of Tesla FSD. <strong>A general regulatory framework is not the same as approval of a particular Tesla system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/b4714d_fd7a4a85612540e7aec983dfc39ddf81~mv2.jpeg\/v1\/fill\/w_925,h_555,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto\/b4714d_fd7a4a85612540e7aec983dfc39ddf81~mv2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-sv3np154\"><strong>A step in the regulatory process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-7783o156\">DCAS rules concern advanced driver-assistance functions that remain within <strong>SAE Level 2<\/strong>, with the driver responsible for supervision. Tesla FSD was discussed in that context: the name does not remove the need for a driver to monitor the road and take responsibility for the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-72csd158\"><strong>What still had to happen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-ynbyc160\">At publication, the article described a further notification process through the UN Secretary-General and an anticipated waiting period of around six months, pointing towards late 2024. It then expected additional steps in individual countries. Those were the procedural expectations recorded at the time, not confirmation of FSD availability or permission to operate without supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-ekrzz162\"><strong>Expectations for the future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-80xt5164\">The developing framework prompted speculation that supervised Tesla FSD might reach some European markets, including Italy, during 2025.
